Midterm Progress and Week 6 – Motor Lab

Because our 1st prototype took us away from our original concept, our group went back to re-work aspects of our midterm and to concentrate on creating a contraption that would move the way we wanted it to – meaning forwards and backwards, based on the position of the sun, and resting and absorbing energy when it was not required to move. We were very lucky that the motor lab coincided with our midterm progress so we used the basics of the motor lab to fine tune our ideas.

So, what we attempted to do was to wire up two photosensors to control the direction that the motor would move in. The voltage returns would pass into the arduino and then control the switching of an h-bridge, which would in turn cause our contraption to steer towards the light.
